Firstly, we hope you and your family are doing well, and staying safe and healthy during these challenging times. In light of the uncertainty we all face in our daily lives with the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to write to keep you informed of the steps we are taking at FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in Ghana and at our offices in the US to ensure we are prepared for all scenarios. The number one priority is the safety of patients, employees, volunteers and visitors.
Beyond simply monitoring the situation, we are taking active measures to ensure the safety of everyone, particularly at the hospital. We understand that the current outbreak is worrying, and we want to take a moment to share some of the following infection-control measures that are being used:
- COVID-19 screening before entering the hospital grounds
- Portable handwashing station at the entrance of hospital
- Strategically placed hand sanitizer stations
- Advising staff to stay home if they feel unwell
- US-based staff working from home for the next two weeks
We recognize that this is an unprecedented time for many as COVID-19 continues to evolve throughout the world and that it is a time filled with uncertainty.
