FOCOS recently commemorated its remarkable 25-year journey with a spectacular gala event held at the prestigious Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on September 22, 2023. The gala, aptly titled the “2023 FOCOS Gala: 25 Years Dedicated to Hope, Healing and Recovery,” was a momentous occasion that marked the organization’s first official in-person gathering since the onset of the global pandemic in 2020.

Since its inception, FOCOS has been dedicated to providing access to high-quality, affordable, and specialized orthopedic care to individuals primarily in Ghana and across the broader African region. Over the past 25 years, the hospital has left an indelible mark on the lives of over 85,000 patients, performing more than 3,500 complex surgeries and impacting countless communities worldwide.
Global Collaboration and Support
The success of FOCOS would not have been possible without the unwavering support of its dedicated team and the contributions of 577 volunteer doctors and medical professionals from over 10 countries. This global collaboration has been instrumental in advancing orthopedic care and education, bringing hope and healing to patients in need.
